LECTURES
Week 4:
Dr. Charles started this week's lecture by telling us about how he will give us feedback on our artwork. After that, we discussed harmony and unity. Dr. Charles showed us some nature pictures which most of them reflect the design principles of harmony and unity. Later on, he asked us about our favorite artists. We also went through some of the artist's work and I was impressed by their artworks. Besides, Dr. Charles also went through all the student's week 3 exercises and gave some verbal feedback.

Idea Exploration
Idea #1
Lastly, I trace the outline using black poster color.
After the feedback session, I decided to try to work on Dr. Charles' idea. I used the A4 paper with texts and make it ask the background of this artwork.

Idea #1
I saw this image from Pinterest when I was scrolling through Pinterest to get some inspiration. After that, I have an idea of creating artwork using a similar element.
FEEDBACK
Dr. Charles said that he prefers the dove's sketches in Figure 3.1. He thinks that the text behind united the artwork.
BRIEF REFLECTION
Se Win, So far, you have shown good commitment towards your work and you have been very brave to try to capture your understanding well! My favourite thus far is balance and symmetry work! Loved them! I also liked the most recent work with the doves but the one with the butter paper. YOu have a good eye for composition!
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you like strong outlines in your work. There may be a way to exploit this to your advantage just like how you did for balance and symmetry. Lines can be strong but it can also be very gentle! you can explore this more for instance have varied line thickness, graduation of thick to thin strokes and other forms. This way your lines can be accentuated and be softer and subtle. Some lines can appear yet be intangible but it exists as illusions. You could have exploited these for your doves and hands. Nevertheless, I like your spirit! Keep up the experimentation and keep creating your own interpretation for the principles as you see fit! No doubt you will do more interesting things soon! Well done!
