LECTURES
Narrative
- Chain of events in cause-effect relationship occurring in time and space
- Series of events
- Causality, time and space
- Story = who & why
- Plot = what happened? how that happened? when and where?
- Best method for understanding a film's narrative system
- A scene-by-scene outline of the entire film
- Major changes within the narrative
- Short and succinct with key points only
3-Act Structure
- Beginning: setup/introduction of a story
- Middle: confrontation of a problem
- End: resolution of problems
- The "inciting incident"
- Turn the story in a new direction
- Sets up what Act Two is going to be
- Raises the stakes
- Reminder of the narrative enigma; presents the possibility of a different outcome
- The "climatic turning point"

We are assigned to watch Zach King videos and select 3 of his visual effects for Project 2.
- A Speedy Card Trick
Figure 1.0 Visual effect #1, 27.8.2021I like this visual effect because the cards are distrusted out smoothly.
Most Realistic Painting Ever
Figure 1.1 Visual effect #2, 27.8.2021I like the way he reconstructs the famous paintings. Besides, the angles and speed of the camera moving to shot this video are all well planned.
Stealing through video chat
Figure 1.2 Visual effect #3, 27.8.2021I think that this effect is very cool because the straw is well connected through the screen.
We are required to submit a proposal for Project 2.
After the feedback, I decided to modify my storyboard.
Then I import all of the film footage into Adobe Premium Pro to edit the video.
Following the feedback, I removed all of the video transitions between the clips, made some colour adjustments and added the title in front as well as the end roll credits
Week 5
Mr. Martin said that there is a lack of motivation in finding poker cards. Mr. Martin also suggested that I change the front part to other events, such as the character becoming bored while playing online games.
Week 6
Mr. Martin said that the draft is fine, but that there should be no transition between the clips.
Week 7
Mr. Martin said that the outcome is good, but there are still transitions between the clips. Besides, I have to do some color correction then is good to submit.
