INSTRUCTIONS
Week 2 Practical - Kinetic Typography
Mr. Martin asked us to download the song So What by P!nk. After that, Mr.
Martin guided us step by step to create text animation.
Figure 2.1.0 Composition #1 Progress, 13.1.2022
In this composition, we animated the paragraph. We only animate the text with
position, scale, and anchor point in this composition (2D).

Figure 2.2.0 Composition #2 Progress, 13.1.2022
We will be animating the lyrics word by word in this composition. In addition,
we learned how to use Adobe After to create 3D effects. Mr. Martin also
reminded us to enable motion blur to ensure that the animation looks
smooth.

Exercise 3 - Kinetic Typography
In this exercise, we are working as a group to create a kinetic typography
music video. We can either choose P!nk's "So What" or choose our own song. As
a result, my group decided to use the song "comethru" by Jeremy Zucker. Later,
we divided the lyrics into seven sections and discussed the typeface and
colour scheme.

Fonts:
Gill Sans & Garamond
Colour Scheme:
Figure 2.3.1 Colour Scheme, 13.1.2022
We chose two typefaces because combining a san-serif and a serif typeface
could result in a more interesting composition. We chose soft colour schemes
for our colour schemes.

Figure 2.4.3 Verse 1 First Outcome, 16.1.2022
I realised that the words would not move away after rotation, resulting in the
majority of the words being stuck halfway. As a result, I'd like to go through
another round of modifications.
Figure 2.4.4 Verse 1 Second Outcome, 18.1.2022
Following that, we combined all of the clips created by other members of the
group.
Figure 2.4.5 Group 5 Kinetic Typography First Outcome, 20.1.2022
After watching the music videos of our classmates, our group decided to make
some changes and improve on our video. Hence, we decided to commit another two
days to this exercise in order for our music video to be more consistent and
accurate with the rhythm as well as lyrics.

Exercise 4 - Motion Graphic Chart
We are required to watch a pre-recorded video to learn how to animate graphic
chart in Adobe After Effect.
Figure 3.0 Week 3 Practical Motion Graphic Chart, 22.1.2022
I was tasked with creating a Line Chart (D).

However, I was not satisfied with the outcome. Hence, I created another one.

Figure 3.1.2 Final Motion Graphic Line Chart, 25.1.2022
Continuing from Project 1, an instructable poster, we are required to create
an animated infographic. First, I separated the layers in Adobe
Illustrator.
After that, I imported all the Ai files into Adobe After Effect.
Figure 5.1 Animating in Adobe After Effect, 10.2.2022
Figure 6.0 Adding Sound Effects, 19.2.2022
I attempted to add music to After Effects, but it kept crashing. With that,
I exported the animated infographics without music and used Adobe Premier
Pro to add the music.
Figure 6.1 Add Music, 20.2.2022
Figure 6.2 Animated Infographics First Outcome, 20.2.2022
The first result ended up taking more than a minute. The animated
infographic should be less than 60 seconds long, according to Ms. Anis's
previous instructions. Hence, I attempted to shorten the animation. However,
it still takes longer than 60 seconds, but Ms. Anis said she can let it
slide. As a result, for the final submission, I only made minor changes to
the timing and sound effect.

FEEDBACK
Week 3
Kinetic Typography Music Video:
-
Mr. Martin: "overall is nice and deserve good marks." (Figure 2.4.5)
Week 7
Animated Infographic:
- Ms. Anis stated that the timing is nice, so she can let it slide despite the fact that the outcome is longer than 60 seconds. (Figure 6.2)
REFLECTION
I enjoyed doing this exercise because I was very interested in learning more about kinetic typography. However, I feel inferior after watching the music videos created by my classmates and realise that I still have more room for improvement in the future.
Exercise 4: Motion Graphic Chart
Simple and beneficial exercise!
Project 2 Animated Infographic
Project 2 Animated Infographic
Hectic project. However, I was quite satisfied with the outcome. If I had more time, I would improve the sound effects and some of the animation.
