LECTURES

Week 1
Mr. Razif briefed us on this module while also showing some examples of previous students' work.

Week 2
Mr. Razif gave us a lecture on the introduction to experiential design, which included user mapping and journey mapping.

Experience Design (XD): Is the practice of designing products, processes, services, events, omnichannel journeys, and environments with a focus placed on the quality of the user experience and culturally relevant solutions.

Week 3
Mr. Razif gave us a lecture on Augmented Reality (AR).
There are 4 key topics:
  • AR/VR/MR Differences
    • AR: Combines real + virtual objects & Enhanced physical world
    • MR: Enhance within the physics of the physical world & Interact and Manipulate virtual objects
    • VR:  Computer Generated World & Sense of Presence
  • Identifying AR & MR
    • Real + Virtual Environment
    • AR + AV
    • Types of AR:
      • Mobile
      • Projections
      • Head Mounted Display (HMD)
  • Designing an AR Experience
    • Marker Based
    • Marker-less
  • Creating a simple AR app

Week 4
Mr. Razif instructed us on how to prepare a proposal while also showing some past student work.

INSTRUCTIONS

Week 2 - Journey Map
We are assigned to a breakout room, and we are required to create a journey map based on an experience. I worked with Jia Sheng and Lavender. We chose the experience of going to Penang Hill.

Week 3 - Augmented Reality
There is a small task prepared by Mr. Razif. With the given pictures, we are required to state that type of XR experience. It is Ar or MR? After that, we are required to imagine the scenario in either kitchen, shopping mall, or gym. What would the AR experience be and what extended visualization can be useful? What do you want the user to feel?

I chose shopping mall and proceeded to Google to look for a picture of a shopping mall. My concept is to employ augmented reality to act as a mall guide. Distance, shop type, and promotion availability are among the features.

FEEDBACK

Week 2

Mr. Razif stated that for the solution of buying tickets, we could have a backup plan in case the online ticketing system fails. We could post backup plan information on the website. Mr. Razif claimed that grouping the touchpoints together is a good idea for the new journey map (waiting & queueing).

Week 3
Mr. Razif suggested that the arrows may be pointing to the same position rather than the shops' various spots. The information can be slanted with arrows and placed closer to the stores. Besides, lines can be used to link the arrows and the information.
