Design Research Dissertation
Research for Journal Article Publication
INSTRUCTIONS
Journal Article Publication
I narrowed my topic by focusing on the role of UI/UX design and removing its elements. Besides, I also decided the title for my article which is "The Preliminary Findings of UI/UX Design for the User Engagement of Food Delivery Applications in Malaysia". I next proceed to the drafting stage of the journal article by going over my dissertation again.

Because an article can only have a certain number of images, I decided to combine my graphs and diagrams.

FEEDBACK
Week 13
General:
Dr. Hayati said that we should focus on a specific area only and not everything from dissertation. Dr. Hayati also mentioned that the article should not exceed 15 pages.
Week 14
General:
Dr. Hayati said that journal article is no longer a dissertation. Hence, we need to think that we are the researcher and already have the findings.
Week 15
Specific:
Dr Hayati advised me to try to play around with the word constraint and can add interface images. Besides, I should avoid using "from" at the start of the sentence. I might also need to revisit the conclusion to ensure the findings and discussion are linked with the conclusion. Dr. Hayati also answered my question by saying that findings could not run away from analysis, but I could also add them in the appendices.
REFLECTION
Writing a journal article proved to be more difficult than I expected. Initially, I feel like I have a dissertation to convert to an article, which seems far easier compared with writing it from scratch like a dissertation. However, this is not the case because a specific topic must be focused on, and we must edit to focus on the smaller topic.
This semester has come to an end. I am glad that I managed to "survive". Thank you, Dr. Hayati, for guiding me throughout the entire journey (including this and the previous semester) as well as for forgiving my mistakes in the work. The takeaway from this module would be that I learnt a lot about writing, that performing research is not easy, and that I would appreciate every piece of research after this.
