/ Animated Infographics
We are given a voice over on the topic of sex education to work on for our final project. We are required to create a motion graphic video for this project in a group. We began by dividing the frames for our group, and each of us will be in charge of one or two frames to come out with the visual.
Before we begin working individually, we brainstorm ideas and decide on a theme for this project. Ellis proposed using a floral and plant theme, which we all agreed on.

Continuously, we're researching different art styles and mood boards. Everyone will contribute their ideas on the Google Slide. Following that, we held a meeting to select and finalise the final art style, mood board, and plants and floral elements to represent the objects, as we had decided to work metaphorically.
We also listed all of the elements we intend to use, and each of us will illustrate some of them. This allows us to keep the art style consistent throughout the video.

After that, we proceed to work on sketches for our scenes so that we can visualise our scenes. The sketches are also used for the story board.

Although we attempted to maintain the same art style, it is still difficult to have a 100 % identical art style because everyone has a different illustration style. As a result, I gathered all of the illustrations drawn by group members and tried to make them all look consistent in one art style.

After that, our group decided to start working on the illustrations in Adobe Illustrator.

Later on, we will only work on the animatic. We added the arrows to indicate the animation for every scene.

After the feedback from Ms. Anis and Mr. Martin, we decided to revise the elements.

We later continues to focus on the animation. Before importing the file into Adobe After Effects, I separated the layers in Adobe Illustrator.

Mr. Martin suggested that I change the movement of the human head shaking in the first scene because it looked wierd.

Compilation
After I completed my part, I helped my group mates in compiling the entire video.

We all agree that there is still room for improvement after the compilation. As a result, I offered to help my group mates in revamping some of the scenes.
Revamp
Before changing the scenes, I proposed the ideas to my group members and obtained their feedback.

FEEDBACK
Week 3
Storyboard: Mr. Martin expressed concern about the art style because the sketches appear to be very different.
Week 4
Animatic: Ms Anis said that the animatic looks alright and have good flow. However, she is not sure about the vines and flowers on the contraceptive devices
Week 6
Animation (Individual): Mr. Martin reminded to to turn on motion blur.
Animation (Group): Mr. Martin asked us to standardise the animation style
Problem spotted by Mr. Martin:
Scene 1 & 2: pixelise Scene 3: face distorted, contraceptive need to be stop moving, do simple animation instead of distorting it Scene 7 & 8: doctor and hand moving too slow. Price tag should move down Scene 11: text on the label (smaller and change perspective), Pills dropping out instead of dissolve, reduce the pills size when others pop out, adjust the trim path (can see the red line)
Week 7
Animation (Individual): Mr. Martin commented it is all good, just that the face rotation is weird and suggested that I change it to rotate left and right instead of having the weird movement.
Feedback from Mr. Martin:
Scene 1 & 2 : add wind sound (reduce the volume / can remove the bird and bee sound), voice over between 0 to -6, sound effect under -15/-20 Scene 3: Visual is ok, add sound effect Scene 4: Remove the flashing, bring the girl in (left/top) Scene 5 & 6: Lower the volume for sound effect, stop watch sound effect too much, hand change to right instead of left Scene 7: Easy ease the first scene, sperm hit the IUD then bounce back, price pull down without changing the opacity, motion blur Scene 8: Virus too cute
Scene 9: Face weird Scene 11: Flashes between the scenes, continue from the toneless cactus
Scene 12: Static for too long, come in slower one by one, add bounce effect, add sound effect REFLECTION
This is the most tiring project I've ever worked on. Although this is a group project, my responsibility as group leader weighs heavily on me. Due to the short semester and the heavy workload, I was barely able to handle them well. I'd say I'm only 70% satisfied with the final result. There is still much to be improved, such as the illustrations, scene transitions, and sound effects. Furthermore, no one in our group has a strong background in animation. Hence, it is hard for us to divide the work into an illustration group and an animation group. However, I would still like to thank my group mates for working together with me this semester.
